Language Café
About our Language Cafe:
BaselConnect's Language Cafe is a project that first started in the early 2010's, as a response to Basel expats' need to practice their German and learn other languages as well.
The Language Cafe is free and open to members and non-members. Registration is necessary, as places are limited and invitations for the virtual sessions must be sent well in advance.
Structure:
Sessions take place every 2 weeks and are 2 hours long. In the first hour, participants speak German with each other and in the second hour, the group breaks out and the subgroups can practice other languages.
Language requirements:
We are looking forward to welcoming participants with a B1 and over German language level.
Registration:
Participants can register using the form to the right. They will receive a calendar invitation including all the log on details.
Virtual session requirements:
We use Google Meet to organize our virtual sessions. To access them from a mobile phone, participants must download the Google Meet app. Participants logging on from their computers can access Google Meet on their browser from the link they receive in the invitation.
